Family Feet Sometimes there’s no soul but not on this album. Favorite track: Depot.
nicholasgrider thumbnail
nicholasgrider Somewhat similar to the work of Jon Hopkins in places but both a little more cerebral and a lot more rewarding during repeat listens, the album is a seamless fusion of bits of idm, electro and "post-classical" that add up to an expansive whole. Very much worth your time if you're interested either in what could be called modern classical right now (Caroline Shaw, Donnacha Dennehy) also well as electronic composers like Caterina Barbieri and good "old-fashioned" Warp Records '90s-era electro/idm. Favorite track: In Echelon.

Christer Nuutinen Enchanting spatial movements, like something massive floating accross the sky in the last rays of the setting sun. Favorite track: Hold.
Solanje thumbnail
Solanje Very fine, dark electronic music. A very good job. Favorite track: Hold.
TiffinWandaLand thumbnail
TiffinWandaLand i'm scared, this album is mind control Favorite track: Hold.

todd1049 One can tell from the first listen that Matt Robertson puts a great deal of thought and effort into his compositions. Every song on this album is diverse and distinct, creating a good variety of moods I chose "False Sense" as my favorite track because it reminds me of something that Arvo Part might have written, and I love Arvo Part. But most every track on the album is a standout in its own right. Favorite track: False Sense.

‘In Echelon’, the forthcoming album by composer, synthesist and producer Matt Robertson, is inspired by the idea of surveillance and how we're always monitored but seem either oblivious or apathetic to it.

"I liken the surveillance phenomenon to a huge slow moving airship that everyone can see, but because it just hovers around really slowly, after a while people become used to it and eventually ignore it or get used to its presence. A lot of the harmonic ideas are really slow moving, but sometimes against a faster moving background. Also harmonically I think some of it is slightly uncomfortable, but wrapped in a comfortable shell."
